In an article published in the journal GesKR (Gesellschafts- und Kapitalmarktrecht), Andreas Binder and Roman Gutzwiller discuss the “Guidelines for institutional investors governing the exercising of participation rights in public limited companies“. Alongside the UK, Switzerland is one of the very few countries that have produced a code for institutional investors. 
Representatives of the business sector, institutional investors and proxy advisers have joined forces in drawing up a set of “Guidelines for institutional investors governing the exercising of participation rights in public limited companies”. With this move, the authors are demonstrating a clear commitment in favour of targeted self-regulation.
